Part III: Your "Aha Moment"
Throughout, my college experience so far in English classes I have made me a better writer, but I mean that's the purpose of the classes. Right? Hahaha! During this class itself I've learned many things about genre and how it changes the view of the piece of writing. For example, when we did the poster on Anaja's life from Maus 1 and 2 my group describe her life and the person she became through pictures and quotes. As a writer I'm very lazy I like to take the easy way out but I like to get things done the right way as well. Like, on the genre project I decided to take the easy way out so I decided to do a timeline on Vladeck's life. Yet, a timeline is not very detailed. Therefor, I didn't get to include everything I wanted to say because of the restrictions on the genre of a timeline. Over the years I've procrastinated in writing a paper because I never knew where to start. This year has showed me that it's not really where you start but where you finish. You can start in the middle of the paper and work your way around it and still be able to include all the sections you need. Writing never started to feel so free since I've joined your class. We are able to come up with the genre's we like, have the ability to write what we want with out any restrictions from the teacher or type of paper. I've really grown this semester into a better writer and better person, that's not enough though I have to keep it up.
